  • When working with teens, I balance their need for privacy with meaningful parent involvement. At the start, I often connect with parents to understand concerns and goals. While I protect your teen’s confidentiality, I can share general updates, themes we’re working on, and ways you can support them at home. I may also offer parent consultation sessions to help with communication, emotional understanding, or navigating challenging transitions. My goal is to support your teen’s growth while helping you stay connected in a healthy and supportive way.

  • I pursued my perinatal mental health certification (PMH-C) because I’m deeply drawn to supporting people during the profound transition. These seasons can bring joy and possibility, while also isolation, identity shifts, and heightened emotional stress that often go unseen. My work with the perinatal population is rooted in creating a compassionate space where birthing people and new parents feel understood, supported, and able to navigate these changes with more steadiness and self-trust.

    The founder of Postpartum Support International (PSI), Jane Honikman created the 9 Steps to Wellness, which highlights emotional support and nonjudgemental sharing through therapy, peer supports or community. For potential clients in this population, I also recommend looking into PSIs resources and their free peer groups for additional ways to connect.

  • I incorporate a person-centered approach, which means your experience and feedback guide our work together. We will routinely review your progress, discuss what feels helpful, and make adjustments as needed to ensure the support you’re receiving aligns with your goals. Signs that therapy is working often emerge gradually, including feeling more grounded, gaining clarity, or noticing shifts in how you respond to stress or relationships. Together, we’ll track these changes and ensure the therapeutic process continues to meet your needs.
